Home for a month!

It is hard to believe that we have actually been home for an entire month already! Where did the time go? We have gotten settled pretty well into our new life as a family of three instead of two. Jenny has gone back to work for three days a week, but Max has adjusted very well with both of us being away at work on those days.

Max also had his big appointment at the Children's Hospital International Adoption Center since our last post. It was a four-hour long checkup with the OT, social worker, nurse practitioner, and with Dr. Staat who runs the clinic. Max did great for the entire visit, that is until the very end when they had to take blood, at which point he SCREAMED. But once that was over and he found out that he got to go home, have lunch, and see pup-pup, he settled down. Overall, Max is doing very well. He is starting to catch up on his height and weight and his other delays are no more than we anticipated. They did recommend that we look into early intervention, so we've been getting into contact with Help Me Grow to set up an appointment. We go back to the IAC in a couple weeks to get the results of the blood tests and the stool sample (yuck) that we sent in today.

We're looking forward to Max's first Halloween. He's dressing up as a dragon. He's probably going to be confused as to what is going on, but we're sure that he'll enjoy the candy!

Max still loves getting ready to take a bath!

Kisses for Mommy!

  2. He is absolutely adorable. Can't wait to hear how he likes Halloween. I think he'll probably want to sit down on each porch and eat his treats one by one...
