Another great day! When Max was brought into the room, he reached out to his Mommy which was nice to see. Then he looked over at his Daddy and reached out again. Or maybe it was a wave. Or perhaps he was just stretching. Anyway, we were on our own again since the Natashas were at the airport waiting for another family to arrive from Almaty. Since their plane was late, Natasha was not able to join us for the visit (which was fine by us).
Max has started turning his head when we say his name. He did it once yesterday and we thought perhaps it was a fluke, but he did it several times today. He was also more interested in his book today. In the past, he would usually toss the book aside when we would pull one out, but today he enjoyed sitting and turning the pages while Jenny read The Very Hungry Caterpillar to him.
He also did a fair amount of walking today. He even let go of my hand on his own while we were walking because he wanted to go solo. Here's a picture of him standing at the chairs without holding on to anything.
Look, Ma, no hands!
He still loves Cheerios-time. On the first trip, we kept them in the backpack until there was about 15 minutes left in our visit. The past few days however, we have just kept them up on the couch behind Jenny's purse. As you'll see in the video, we think he remembers Cheerios-time from the first trip.
We got caught in the rain last night after our kebabs at Kemer. It hadn't rained in Aktobe for the last 2 months, but it did last night, on us. Today has been somewhat overcast as well. We were going to walk to the big market this afternoon, but when we felt some raindrops, we turned around and came home. So we're just hanging in the apartment today.
12 more days until we receive custody!!!

Great news! I haven't checked in the last few days and boy did I miss a lot! Kissing, first steps, recognition of his name -- this is big stuff! So thrilled things are going well. (Scott -- I just got your voice mail from last week before you left. So sorry! My phone was out of commission until they sent me a new one.) Anyway, we are loving the updates!

I love Max's little sheepish grin in the picture with the book! I kind of thought he was going to climb all the way in the backback in the video!
ReplyDeleteSending love and prayers your way!
